Welcome to Poetic Forms, a community where people who want to learn about and write with traditional poetic forms can do so together. It was created by alenia on May 22, 2003.
To join this community, please send A NOTE(as opposed to writing a devious comment) with the subject "Joining" saying that you want to join and linking any formed poems you may have written already.
Hey guys, this is prevail. I'll be taking over the administrative duties of our club while alenia is away. I'll be checking the account frequently but if you have any urgent questions or comments, please feel free to send a note to my personal account and I will get to it right away!
Also, please welcome elationandco and chiroptera to our merry band!
Thank you icefaerie and tessuraea for the write-ups on ballads, sestinas, and villanelles. I'd thank myself, but that might be odd. so I just want to say that alenia has written a write up on pantoums.

Form of the Month
June is Pantoum Month!
A pantoum is a poem comprised of quatrains where the second and fourth line of a stanza become the first and third lines of the next stanza. See the write-up for more information.
This month I'd like it if people made an effort to write pantoums, because this form is my current favorite and is really enjoyable to read and write.
Here are some of the pantoums our members have written.
